about the episode_____
SCREENCAPS!
as i explained before, "holy night" is the thirty-eight episode of the second season of the anime series "digimon." i'm sure, if you're here, you've already heard of it. but just to give you a gist of what it is about-- ken's just been found, and he has finally given up the title of digimon kaiser, and all that crazy stuff he did at the beginning of the season. the control towers are still very much a reality, though, so he joins the other destined kids to destroy them, in the process coming closer to them. the episode begins when ken invites the destined children to a reunion in his house to celebrate christmas. iori has some reservations about it, but finally he accepts it.
yamato and his band are practicing for a concert (BTW, i must say his voice in spanish -not the mexican dub, but the actual spanish dub- is absolutely horrendous), when his dad calls him to say he'd be busy that night, so not to wait for him. takeru's mother has an encounter with oikawa (aka the BAD GUY), which leaves her a little dumbfounded and scared as he tells her "it's only just begun," meaning the whole digimon thing. and i don't blame her, the guy is FREAKY! (and did it seem to you guys like she was flirting with daisuke's dad?).
daisuke and the new chosen ones plan to reunite the original chosen ones with their digimon companions, so they send the whole bunch of them to the real world in huge bags (including palmon, who was sent to the US where mimi resides). sora is unsure if she should give yamato the christmas present she made for him (homemade cookies), and piyomon, gabumon and even agumon try to convince her to go ahead but it is at last taichi who, in an unprecedented display of maturity, pushes her to follow her heart and go in and talk to yamato.
in ken's house, the new chosen ones see the frame that contains a picture of ken's brother osamu. yamato's concert begins and sora, taichi, koushiro and jyou (along with crazy!fangirl!jun) are there to see him. BUT! arukenimon & co. of course have to be evil and send big, mean digimon to destroy everything. the original destined kids can't digivolve so they have to call in the reinforcements.
in ken's house, miyako and daisuke are up to their usual antics and in the end, they make even ken laugh, which all the others notice joyfully. then they receive taichi's call and have to go save the world. after a lot of digivolving and DNA digivolving, they finally send all the big, mean digimon back home where they can't bother anyone.
so all the digidestined kids go back home and spend christmas night with their loving digimon. but the next morning, dark towers have appeared all over the world and the gate to the digital world has been opened from all over the world, too.
why holy night?_____
i really like this episode, mainly because i get to see all the digidestined children in it. it is very nice to see them all working together again. also, this episode marks the true beginning of the oikawa saga, which is the real ending of the digital adventure universe. you can just begin to get a peek of the truth that's about to be revealed in the next chapters.
ken finally is back to the nice, kind kid we all knew he was, even with all the troubles he's faced and he's opening up to the other digidestined kids, and that makes me feel warm and fuzzy every time i see it. and of course, if you're a yamato/sora fan like me, this is EPISODE ONE of that story arc; it's the one you HAVE to see. not to mention that taichi really shines both in maturity and in leadership skills in this episode. the perfect prequel to the "digimon world tour."
about the fanlistings______
a fanlisting is, as described by its creator, janine, a "a place for all fans of a particular show, movie, actor/actress, singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing of people from all around the world who are fans of that subject." in this case, it's a list of fans of "mainstream". for more information, just visit the website ^^
