anno hideaki is a japanese director/producer/animator. he is mostly famous for his greatest work-- he directed the series "shin seiki evangelion" (neon genesis evangelion for those of us who aren't japanese), which is hailed as one of the greatest anime series of all time. but anno has also directed other series like the well-known "kareshi kanojo no jijyou" (aka karekano, "his and her circumstances") and fushigi no umi no nadia. he has also directed some live-action films like love & pop, a film about child prostitution in japan, and shiki-jitsu (known in occident as "ritual.") he has also worked as a producer or in the crew of other hits like macross, kaze no tani no naushika ("nausicaa of the valley of the winds") and FLCL ("furi-kuri"). for more information on anno and his work, check out these pages: 1, 2, 3.
